The ongoing public health and economic crises exacerbate issues for low-income residents across the District, disproportionately impacting communities of color. Now more residents are unemployed, more tenants are at risk of eviction and homelessness, and the job prospects of justice-involved individuals are increasingly dim. For more than 50 years, Rising for Justice has worked to address the vast justice gap for those who would otherwise go unrepresented when confronting life-altering events. Since our founding, we have protected the rights of more than 250,000 District residents and trained nearly 4,000 students through our clinical program.
