Do you have a court date coming up at the DC Superior Court in the Landlord-Tenant Court? Do you need help with an eviction notice, Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher termination, or other type of dispute with your landlord?
We have two offices where tenants can seek legal assistance during certain specified hours. Our attorneys may be able to advise you before or on your first court date and possibly take on your case.
If you have a hearing at Landlord and Tenant Court or have to file a document at Landlord and Tenant Court, you may come to our courthouse office to seek assistance on your court date or the day your filing is due.
Rising for Justice’s courthouse office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse where the Landlord and Tenant courtrooms are located.
If you want to seek assistance before the day of your hearing or filing deadline at Landlord and Tenant Court, or if you are a tenant in D.C., and have some other problem with your housing, you may come to our main office on Fridays from 9:30am to 12:30pm. The staff in the front lobby of our main office may ask for your ID in order to allow you to come up to our offices. If you do not have ID, simply ask them to call our office at 202.638.4798 so that someone can authorize your admission into the building.
